Negative Self-Talk

“I can’t do this”, “no one likes me”, “I am ugly”, “I am not good enough”, “I have no talent.” If you ever told yourself any of these statements, or any other negative statement, you are familiar with that inner dialogue that limits your ability to accomplish more, makes you feel awful and impacts the way you come across to others.

Most of the time, these statements do not accurately depict the reality but we believe them anyway, slowly building up an impenetrable barrier for compliments or positive things in our lives to make an impact. In the long run, it will affect our self-esteem and confidence.

Learning to challenge and question those statements through cognitive restructuring will weaken the power they have over you, allowing a more realistic, stronger and genuine self to flourish.
